  • Deadlifts (pick up heavy objects off the ground)
  • Turkish Get Ups
  • Farmer’s Carry (carry heavy things)
  • Sled Push/Pulls
  • Push Press (using legs and arms together)

Other examples of movements that use multiple joints include:

  • Multidirectional lunges - prepare your body to perform the task such as vacuuming and yard work.
  • Standing bicep curls

Is Functional Fitness Right for You?
