Ingredients

  • 4 fish fillets (such as salmon, trout, or tilapia)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon dried herbs (such as thyme, oregano, or dill)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lemon wedges, for serving
  • Fresh herbs (optional), for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, minced garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, dried herbs, salt, and pepper. This will be your marinade.
  • Place the fish fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Make sure the fillets are evenly coated. Let them marinate for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to penetrate the fish.
  • While the fish is marinating, lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
  • Once the grill is hot, place the fish fillets on the grill, skin side down if applicable. Cook for about 4-6 minutes on each side, depending on the thickness of the fillets. The fish should easily flake with a fork when it's done.
  • While grilling, baste the fish occasionally with any remaining marinade to enhance the flavors and keep it moist.
  • Once the fish is cooked through, remove it from the grill and transfer it to a serving platter. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the fillets for an extra burst of citrus flavor.
  • Garnish with fresh herbs, if desired, and serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.

This grilled fish recipe is not only delicious but also packed with healthy nutrients. It's perfect for a light and flavorful meal that can be enjoyed with a side of grilled vegetables or a fresh salad. Bon appétit!
